TeliaSonera Finland introduces Mobile TV and other new 3G services, Mar 27, 2006

TeliaSonera Finland is launching new, innovative, and easy to use mobile TV service ("MobiiliTV") on April 1st among with mobile music service ("Musiikkilataamo") and video calls. The Mobile TV service is based on a platform developed in TeliaSonera MediaLab. The platform provides complete, versatile market place for content providers such as broadcasters enabling delivery of media content to end-users. Supported media types include live TV and radio feeds as well as video-on-demand (VoD) content. Content can be packaged and sold to end-users in several ways as the platforms supports pay-per-view and subscription based business models. All content fees are charged on the subscriber's monthly phone bill.

With the Mobile TV service, Sonera customers can watch all programs of the channel Nelonen, TV news broadcasts of YLE, The Voice 24h Music-TV channel as well as news and current affairs programs of MTV3. New content providers are expected to join the service in the near future.
