Sonera brings CNN TV to its mobile customers - Jun 23, 2004

Sonera is launching the 24-hour CNN TV news channel for mobile phone users in Finland. With this service, Sonera's mobile subscribers will be able to watch CNN's TV programs, such as world news, international business and sport news, as well as talk shows, live on their mobile devices. The CNN channel will be streamed to 3GPP compliant devices from the award-winning Sonera Live platform using 20 kbps (for GPRS users) and 50 kbps (for EDGE users) bitrates. CNN is Sonera's first content service specifically adapted for EDGE terminals. The service will be available to Sonera customers immediately. Read the full press release in PDF format.
